Wheaton, IL (August 26, 2014) – RJN Group, Inc. (RJN) is currently providing Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Study (SSES) services for the City of West Memphis, Arkansas as a subconsultant to the engineering consulting firm, Fisher & Arnold, Inc.
The City is looking to understand and identify sources of inflow/infiltration (I/I) in order to improve wastewater conveyance.
RJN is working in the study areas known as Basin 8. The services performed in Basin 8 will locate I/I sources and determine the amount of I/I in the system. RJN will analyze the data to determine the remaining useful life of the City’s largest interceptor and provide recommendations for repair of the existing infrastructure in order for the City to develop a rehabilitation program for the system.
Services that RJN is performing for the study include flow monitoring, smoke testing of 125,000 linear feet, inspecting 370 manholes, dyed water flooding, television (TV) inspection, and a condition assessment to determine the remaining useful life of the 42-inch interceptor that transports most of the City’s wastewater flows utilizing Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) CCTV technology.
The project is scheduled for completion in December of this year.
