Sanitary Sewer Study Assists with New Wastewater Pump Station Design

Wheaton, IL (September 9, 2014) – RJN Group, Inc. (RJN) is conducting a Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Study (SSES) to assist McClelland Consulting Engineers (McClelland) with the design of a new wastewater pump station for the City of West Fork, Arkansas.

The City has experienced wet-weather related overflows into the West Fork of the White River as a result of an aging wastewater treatment plant. The White River watershed serves as the drinking water source for a large portion of Northwest Arkansas.

For the SSES, RJN is performing the following services:

  • Flow monitoring for 60 days
  • Smoke testing 75,000 linear feet of pipe
  • Inspecting 300 manholes
  • Dyed water flooding
  • Closed circuit TV inspection

The data collected from the field inspections will be compiled into a report that McClelland can use in aiding the City of West Fork in reducing Inflow/Infiltration (I/I) and also to provide the necessary data to properly size the proposed wastewater pump station for both average day conditions and wet-weather conditions.

This project is scheduled for completion in December of this year.
