Wheaton, Ill., November 13, 2015 – The Plum Grove Woodlands Sanitary District (District), located within Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago (MWRD) wastewater treatment services area, has selected RJN Group, Inc. (RJN) as their new District Engineer.
RJN will assist the District with compliance measures for the new MWRD Infiltration and Inflow (I/I) Control Program developing annual reporting requirements and short- and long-term I/I reduction programs, and conducting evaluations of the system. The District service area covers approximately 75 acres with 7,800 linear feet of sewer in unincorporated Cook County between Schaumburg and Rolling Meadows, Illinois.
The MWRD I/I Control Program requires that all contributing wastewater generating agencies track and report basement backups (BB) and sanitary sewer overflows (SSO), inspect the condition of their collection system, rehabilitate all high priority I/I sources, and develop a Long-Term Private Property Investigation Plan and Long-Term O&M Plan by 2017. RJN will work closely with the District to meet these requirements. Compliance will involve developing comprehensive asset inventory, implementing a BB/SSO tracking system, developing a prioritized condition assessment program, preparing system prioritization maps, and submitting required forms and annual reports.
