Title: Setting up an I&I Program
Date and Time: 12 to 1 PM Central, Wednesday, September 13, 2017
Location: Home or office computer
Description: Most communities in Illinois are responsible for operation and maintenance of their sanitary sewer system. As these sewer systems continue to age, it is critical to set up an inflow and infiltration (I&I) program to maintain and extend the life of the system. We will discuss the key components of an I&I program. This includes understanding what causes system overflows and then knowing your system through mapping, flow monitoring, and hydraulic modeling. The next step is identifying sources of excess flow through a sanitary sewer evaluation survey. Finally, we will discuss the most important step, a cost-effective approach to rehabilitation of the system.
