WSSC (Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission) gathers collection system performance data using a network of 210 flow meters and 18 rain gauges. These meters are used to monitor flow levels across the collection system that services 1.8 million residents through 5,400 miles of sewer pipeline, one of the nation’s largest utilities of its kind. A critical aspect of RJN’s selection for the program was the ability to provide access to flow data as it is being collected and integrated flow level alarming and alerting features that provide notification of high flow conditions in real time.
