The Village of Wilmette had been experiencing backups and flooding in its sewer system during storms.  The Village enlisted RJN to construct and calibrate a hydraulic model to evaluate the collection system performance and identity recommendations to remediate overflow conditions.  The village-wide model was calibrated using historical flow monitoring data, SSES data, and water consumption records, accounting for areas with recurring reported overflow conditions.  Modeling runs were executed to simulate 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year storm levels to assess system capacity during dry- and wet-weather and system bottlenecks, and to evaluate various I/I reduction measures or additional data needs.
