Comprehensive Flow Data Evaluation
Ensures Accurate Hydraulic Modeling

Project Name
Hydraulic Modeling Services
Client
Jonesboro City Water & Light
Location
Jonesboro, Arkansas
Service Period
2014

Jonesboro City Water & Light sought RJN’s help to validate the accuracy of flow data collected through an ongoing program and to construct and calibrate a hydraulic model to evaluate the performance of their collection system.  The flow data verification process required a complete review of the data including conducting in-situ calibration measurements to validate the equipment accuracies over the measurement period.  The data was verified using Mannings and Continuity equation comparisons and complex flow balancing measures.  The corrected data was used to calibrate the hydraulic model of the collection system mirroring all pipes 10 inches and larger.

Project Metrics

  • 2,100,000 LF of pipe
  • 250,000 LF modeled
  • Data verification of data collected from 42 flow meters with results from 60% to 132% of calibrated flow rates and depth adjustments ranging from -.65 to 1.17

Services

  • Data integration, conversion, and validation/quality reviews
  • Migration to Telog Enterprise Client
  • Data analysis
  • Hydraulic modeling
  • Site investigations for missing or inaccurate data
